Sophie Bocher

Sophie Bocher lives and works in Paris.
She spent three years learning painting, drawing and sculpture at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, where she learned, experimented and defined her own style.
Her sculptural practice oscillates between abstraction and figuration, aiming to purify forms to reveal their essence without artifice. Inspired by Brancusi and Henry Moore, she experiments with materials such as bronze, sandstone and concrete, often choosing textures that accentuate simplicity and minerality.
Her works, such as La Conversation and Intimités, offer a unique interaction, allowing viewers to reposition them and reinvent their spatial dialogue. The importance of light in her work highlights the texture of materials, adding a vibratory dimension to her sculptures.
