Aude Bray-Deperne

After studying applied arts in Paris and specialising in graphic design, Aude has been working as a graphic designer since 2007. She settled in Lille as a freelancer and devotes her free time to more personal artistic practices.

In 2016, she chose to go back to school to discover clay and its techniques: modelling, throwing, sculpture. Stoneware then became her favourite medium. When she joined the Ateliers Jouret in Roubaix in 2019, these two years of residency allowed her to refine her artistic approach and to confront her creations with the public's gaze.

In her creative process, Aude thinks of her pieces as families. They are figures, people who dialogue together. Her work is about the visible and invisible links between human beings, about family ties, origins and, in a more intimate way, about the body and motherhood.

Attracted by raw material and contrasts, she handcrafts her minimalist ceramics that reveal the texture of the stoneware. Each one is signed underneath with a stylised B.
