Alexandre Labruyère
Alexandre Labruyère is a designer of contemporary furniture and decorative objects.
A jack of all trades, he is passionate about his work. He is inspired by his many travels and encounters to imagine, design and manufacture furniture and decorative objects.
Initially trained in industrial design, he then explored the many facets of object design which allowed him to develop his taste for materials. After several years working for a large industrial sports company, he began training as a cabinetmaker in 2019 at the Ecole Boulle, which allowed him to bring his ideas and concepts for contemporary furniture to life.
Alexandre has chosen to set up shop at the Cofabrik, a shared creative space in Lille. His work revolves around three fundamental axes: tension, lightness and simplicity. These three notions guide his research and his creations. A taut but fluid line guides the designer's work, which is enhanced by contrasting colours. Simplicity, in its most positive sense, gives the object a form of evidence. Alexandre's universe is imbued with a familiar poetry: his objects call upon a memory of timeless forms.
A keen cyclist, he has travelled to many places whose natural landscapes have left their mark on him and now serve as inspiration for his creations. Nature influences each of his collections: the petiole, the reeds of the marshes of the South, the fields of wild grasses of the North draw his imaginary and poetic landscape.
All the raw materials come from the Hauts de France and are used in a sustainable way. Oak, ash, sycamore and red oak are carefully selected directly from the producer.
